The group of 'other conventional protein kinase domain kinases' consists of kinases with a conventional eukaryotic protein kinase domain that do not fit into any of the other major groups. This grouping is described in FBrf0201870.
Although Wee1 is functionally a tyrosine kinase, its sequence more similar to serine/threonine kinases (PMID:15837193). It is therefore listed in both OTHER CONVENTIONAL PROTEIN KINASE DOMAIN KINASES and NON-RECEPTOR TYROSINE KINASES gene groups.
Madm, Slob, CG8726, CG4041 and CG11486 are predicted to be pseudokinases based on sequence analysis in FBrf0209106. Wnk was predicted to be a pseudokinase in FBrf0209106, but was shown to be active in FBrf0222370.
