In vertebrates the SMN complex also includes the Unrip subunit.
Lanfranco et al. (FBrf0237151) suggest that Hez, Sbat and Vlet are orthologous to metazoan Gemin6, Gemin7 and Gemin8, respectively, and are components of the SMN complex.
