Description
Description
The Heat Shock Protein 60 (Hsp60) family of chaperonins assist in the correct folding of newly synthesized or stress denatured proteins in an ATP-dependent manner. They are divided into two groups (I and II) that are structurally similar and quite diverse in sequence. Chaperonins form a large cage-like structure composed of two rings.
