Description
Description
In Drosophila, neuromuscular junction type A and type B glutamate receptors are heterotetramers assembled from either GluRIIA or GluRIIB plus other GluRII subunits. In response to the neurotransmitter, glutamate, they conduct Ca2+. (Adapted from FBrf0228432).
Notes on Group

Drosophila NMJ ionotropic glutamate receptors have a pharmacological profile distinct from vertebrate non-NMDA glutamate receptors in that they can be activated by the agonist quisqualate, but do not respond to AMPA or kainate (FBrf0228432).
