Description
Description

Lysozymes belong to the glycoside hydrolase family 22. Lysozymes damage bacterial cell walls by hydrolyzing the β-(1,4)-glycosidic bond between N-acetyl-muraminic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine of peptidoglycan, causing cell lysis. (Adapted from PMID:22581338, PMID:20413917, PMID:20049505).

Notes on Group
