Description
Description
Sumoylation is a post-translational modification regulating numerous biological processes. Desumoylases are required for the maturation and/or deconjugation of SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) proteins, thereby either promoting or reverting sumoylation on target proteins to modify their function. They are included within MEROPS family C48. (Adapted from FBrf0218602.)
