Description
Description
Oxoglutarate dehydrogenases form the E1 component of the oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex, a key component of the tricarboxylic acid cycle. They catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of alpha-ketoglutarate to succinyl-CoA at the active site of the enzyme. (Adapted from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxoglutarate_dehydrogenase_complex.)
Notes on Group

Ogdh1 and Ogdh2 are paralogs: Ogdh1 is expressed ubiquitously whereas Ogdh2 is testis-specific.
