Wings broader; bent downward in slight, even arc; edges drawn down to diamond shape. Sometimes in stock, wings are bent upward instead of downward. Crossveins closer together. RK2.

Wings broader and shorter than wild type, blunt at the tip. Frequently shows upturned posterior scutellar bristles. In combination with svrpoi, produces soft blistered wing. a transcripts are distributed uniformly in the embryo shortly after egg laying. This maternal RNA is rapidly converted to an anterior-posterior gradient. a transcripts are expressed dynamically in the embryo in regions that are about to or in the process of undergoing morphogenetic movements. Zygotic a transcripts are first detected in the posterior midgut primordium, prior to and during invagination. They are detected in the Malpighian tubule primordium prior to evagination of the tubule buds and during evagination and elongation. They are also found in the hindgut, foregut, salivary gland, and trachea after they have formed and while they are elongating. In larvae, a transcripts are expressed in repeating clusters of cells along the morphogenetic furrow.
