al protein is expressed in both male and female genital discs of third instar larvae. Expression is more extensive and at a higher level in female than in male discs.
al is expressed in the dorsal-proximal region of all leg discs. al expression gradually decreases at the proximal edges. The distal region of the ss domain overlaps with the most proximal region of the al domain. Expression is observed from third instar at least until early pupal stages.
