For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
cni is required for the induction of both posterior and dorsal follicle cell fates. cni is probably required in the oocyte for the production of the inducing signal, but as mutations do not affect grk localisation to the posterior of the oocyte cni must act at a different step in the pathway.
