Multiphase exon postulated: exon reading frame differs in alternative transcripts.
Variable use of small exon; supported combination results in frameshift and premature stop in downstream exon.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all possible combinations of alternative exons and/or alternative promoters.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.
Gene model reviewed during 5.45
Gene model reviewed during 6.32
12.5, 9.5 (northern blot)
None of the polypeptides share 100% sequence identity.
Each of the four internal repeats contains five hydrophobic transmembrane segments (S1, S2, S3, S5, S6) and one positively charged transmembrane segment (S4). S4 segments probably represent the voltage-sensor and are characterized by a series of positively charged amino acids at every third position.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
The Ca-α1D gene product, an α1-subunit of the L-type calcium channel, plays a role in epithelial fluid transport, in a distinct calcium entry mechanism mediated by CAP2b, cGMP and thapsigargin.
Ca-α1D is responsible for the dihyropyridine-sensitive channel in larval muscle but plays no role in the amiloride-sensitive current.
Identification: Isolated from a Drosophila adult head cDNA library.
14 alleles are discussed but are not named.
