Additional comments
The initial amino terminal residues of the "Lcp6" protein are identical to those of the LCP5 protein encoded by "Lcp65Ab1" and "Lcp65Ab2". The "Lcp6" protein may be encoded by an extra copy of the "Lcp-b" gene (Lcp65Ab3) present in the Canton S strain.
hide Other Comments
The larval cuticle protein genes Lcp65Ab1, Lcp6, Lcp65Ag1 and Lcp65Ab1 are located in a cluster within 0.3 map units if each other on the third chromosome.
One of a series of genes encoding electrophoretically separable proteins extractable from the cuticles of third instar larvae, but not other stages.
