posterior crossvein; all veins fused at base of wing, like bi.
According to Waddington [1940, J. Genet. 41: 75-139 (fig.)],
spaces form between epithelial layers owing to inadequate contraction during pupal period; spaces later fuse and form extra
veins (Diaz-Benjumea, Gonzalez-Gaitan, and Garcia-Bellido,
1989, Genome 31: 612-19).
