AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all possible combinations of alternative exons and/or alternative promoters.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.

dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene tested in RNAi screen for effects on Kc167 and S2R+ cell morphology.
The effect of Pkc53E mediated phosphorylation on each step of Top2 catalytic cycle is analysed. As with Casein kinase II (CkIIβ and CkIIβ), stimulation of enzyme activity by Pkc53E correlates with an increased rate of Top2 catalysed ATP hydrolysis. Modification did not affect any step of the enzymes catalytic cycle that preceded the ATPase step.
Comparison of CpG distribution in the coding region of 121 genes from six species supports the mCpG mutational hotspot explanation of CpG suppression in methylated species at position II-III and III-I.
Isolated by homology to bovine protein kinase C.
Pkc53E has been cloned and characterised.
The protein kinase C (PKC) enzyme in Drosophila is encoded by a gene family made up of three genes which are expressed primarily in adult flies. The deduced amino acid sequences of these genes are quite similar to each other and those of the mammalian PKC family (Schaeffer, Smith, Mardon, Quinn and Zuker, 1989). Ca++-dependent Molecular data indicate that Pkc53E lies approximately 20 kb from inaC, another PKC gene with 53E cytological location (Schaeffer, Smith, Mardon, Quinn and Zuker, 1989).
Structural gene for protein kinase C (PKC) that is expressed primarily in the brain of adult flies.
