shf protein has a distribution similar to that of shf transcript, and is localized to parts of the presumptive notum, to the presumptive wing hinge, and to the anterior and posterior edges of the wing pouch. The wing pouch expression is stronger at the anterior- and posterior-most edges, and more pronounced in the posterior compartment. Immunoreactivity appears to be associated with the cell surface.
