Sense and antisense transcripts of suffix have been detected at different stages of development.
Insertions of suffix in both orientations into microsatellite sequences are found and structure of the region can define the insertion orientation.
The suffix short repeat, carrying polyadenylation signals and polyadenylation sites, forms the last exon of ct. The suffix sequence is directly involved in the formation of the last splicing site and the 3' end maturation of ct mRNA.
