The gene Tyrosine 2 is referred to in FlyBase by the symbol Tyr2 (FBgn0003911). It has not been localized to the genome sequence. Its molecular function is unknown. The biological processes in which it is involved are not known. 2 alleles are reported. No phenotypic data is available. It has no annotated transcripts.

Gene/Allele symbols may differ from current usage
Tyr2: Tyrosine 2 (J.C. Hall)
Tyr2/+ heterozygotes show about 50% of the diphenol oxidase activity of wild-type strains; modifiers involved in this dominant effect. Tyr2P208, isolated as a recessive light-on/light-off transient-minus mutant by Pak, also affects electroretinograms when in heteroallelic combination with the original Tyr2 (Homyk and Pye, 1988). Tyr2 homozygotes also show this ERG defect.
