blow transcripts are expressed in myoblasts just before and during myoblast fusion. Expression is first detected in late stage 10 embryos in 13 clusters of mesodermal cells, which may correspond to myoblast precursors. During stage 11 and 12, segmental stripes of fusing myoblasts are seen at the sites of the clusters. Expression peaks at early stage 13 and disappears by the end of stage 14.
