FlyBase curator comment: The gene corresponding to the CG6539 annotation was previously named "Dhh1" in FlyBase based on information in FBrf0125024, where the yeast Dhh1 protein is given as a homolog of CG6539. However, although the CG6539 does show some similarity to the yeast Dhh1 protein, the Drosophila ortholog of Dhh1 is the CG4916 annotation. Thus, to avoid confusion, the gene corresponding to the CG6539 annotation has been renamed to "Gem3, Gemin3" in FlyBase, as suggested in FBrf0206864.
