AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Low-frequency RNA-Seq exon junction(s) not annotated.

The 1.9kb igl transcript is detected throughout development on northern blots. By in situ, it is detected in embryos older than 12 hours and its expression is limited to cells of the CNS and PNS, including cells of the antennomaxillary ganglion and the brain region. Expression appears to be restricted to neurons.
The 2.5kb igl transcript is detected during embryonic, larval, and pupal development on northern blots. By in situ, it is detected in embryos older than 12 hours and its expression is limited to cells of the CNS and PNS, including cells of the antennomaxillary ganglion and the brain region. Expression appears to be restricted to neurons.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
RNAi generated by PCR using primers directed to this gene causes a cell growth and viability phenotype when assayed in Kc167 and S2R+ cells.
Identified on the basis of sequence similarity to a rat GAP-43.
Named "igloo" (igl, invertebrate GAP-43 like) because it encodes proteins related to vertebrate GAP-43.
