Comment: anterior boundary
At embryonic stage 11, Awh is expressed only in the outer region of the posterior spiracle primordium located in the eighth abdominal segment. From stage 13 its expression is restricted to the anterior boundary of the posterior spiracle primordium. Expression in the central region of the spiracle primordium is repressed by Abd-B.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Source for identity of: Awh CG1072
Awh is necessary for establishment of proper numbers of cells within a subset of imaginal precursor tissues.
Loss-of-function alleles are recessive lethal. Gain-of-function alleles show a dominant small eye phenotype, and result in the complete absence of the eye when homozygous.
