Cloning and characterisation of
Caki .
The
Caki protein sequence is conserved in the catalytic and calmodulin-binding domains with other type II CaM kinases. In cultured cells
Caki has the ability to stimulate the transcriptional activity of the Rous sarcoma virus long terminal repeat (RSV LTR).
Mutant flies, in which an encoding part of the gene is removed, display a substantial reduction in walking speed.
Expressed in nurse cells.
