AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Northern blot analysis indicates that the rare btn transcript is expressed throughout the embryonic period from about 4hrs on and more weakly in larval, pupal and adult periods. Expression is first detected by in situ hybridization in a group of two to four midline cells in the three thoracic and first seven abdominal segments at stage 11. They are located at the position of future segment boundaries and are found along the dorsal midline of the mesodermal bridge. During germ band retraction the btn-expressing cells extend lateral processes. By stage 14, the processes extend well beyond the ventral cord to the sites of muscle attachment. The number of btn-expressing cells at this stage is reduced from four to two. These mature cells are the dorsal neurohemal organs also known as dorsal median cells.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
