For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Analysis of Mmus\Hoxa7-Ecol\lacZ reporter constructs shows that the upstream region of the Mmus\Hoxa7 gene that regulates expression in the mouse embryo does not confer any specific enhancer activity in Drosophila, while the Mmus\Hoxa7 intron can function as an enhancer in Drosophila, and contains potential binding sites for cad and ftz.
