    Overexpression of Cele\ced-9 or BacA\p35 significantly reduces cell death induced by Cele\ced-3 in SL2 cells.

    A mechanism of programmed cell death controlled by CED-3/ICE is conserved among widely divergent animal species including Drosophila, and the system provides a tool to dissect cell death mechanism of CED-3/ICE proteases.
