The Sld5, Psf1, Psf2, Psf3, CDC45L, Mcm2, Mcm3, Mcm5, Mcm6, Mcm7 and dpa proteins form the Cdc45/Mcm2-7/GINS (CMG) complex, a helicase required for the S phase transition in Kc cells.
Kc cells transfected with dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene show an impairment of the cell cycle and accumulate in G1 and S phase.
