GABA-B-R2 protein is strongly expressed in the ellipsoid body ring between the innervation regions of R3 and R4d ring neurons. Weak expression is observed in the R3 ring. GABA-B-R2 protein is detected in the fan-shaped body and in the bulb (lateral triangle).
GABA-B-R2 protein is expressed in the insulin producing cells (IPC), a subset of the dorsomedial neurosecretory cells of the pars intercerebralis and in other cells ventral to the IPC cells. IPC cells labeled by the expression of Scer\GAL4GABA-B-R2.PR are also labeled by the expression of Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PW.
