AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Gene model reviewed during 5.47
There is only one protein coding transcript and one polypeptide associated with this gene

Comment: postsynaptically localized
GluRIID is expressed in the postsynaptic part of the neuromuscular junction.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.

FlyBase curator comment: 'GluRIID' renamed 'KaiRIA' for the following reasons: i) The first published research papers to characterize this gene refer to it as 'GluRIID' (FBrf0184094, FBrf0184095). ii) 'GluRIID' is much prefered over 'KaiRIA' in the published literature. iii) 'KaiRIA' appears to stem from an EDRC abstract (FBrf0111008), and this is not a valid source upon which to name a gene in FlyBase. iv) 'GluRIID' matches the nomenclature of the GluR genes.
Identification: In a screen for mutants with defective synaptic development.
KaiRIA is essential at the Drosophila neuromuscular junction and is the first glutamate receptor subunit known to function within the CNS.
Mutants are completely paralysed and die as embryos. Mutant neuromuscular junctions are devoid of glutamate receptors.
