For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
The partial loss of function seen in Clic heterozygotes does not consistently alter negative geotaxis, indicting that the decrease in ethanol sensitivity seen in Clic mutants is independent of global improvements in negative geotaxis or climbing behavior.
Clic may function as a redox protein that confers resistance to oxidative stress.
