Gene Snapshot
Metabotropic GABA-B receptor subtype 3 (GABA-B-R3) is a G-protein coupled receptor for the GABA neurotransmitter that is coupled to the Go G protein and activation of phospholipase C. Activation of GABA-B-R3 can inhibit neuronal activity. It functions in the olfactory system and in the regulation of sleep and circadian rhythms. [Date last reviewed: 2016-06-30]

GABA(B) RECEPTORS -
Metabotropic GABA(B) receptors are Class C GPCRs. They function as obligate heterodimers, binding the inhibitory neurotransmitter GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid). (Adapted from FBrf0134605).
