    GROWTH-BLOCKING PEPTIDES -
    Growth-Blocking Peptides (GBPs) are insect cytokines of 19-30 amino acids containing the motif C-x(2)-G-x(4,6)-G-x(1,2)-C-[KR]. GBPs are synthesized as prepropeptides and are generated from the cleavage of the C-termini of the precursor. They have diverse functions including regulation of growth and the immune response.
