Mutant clones in the imaginal discs accumulate actin filaments all around the cell cortex. Mutant clones in the eye disc cause photoreceptor nuclei to drop out of the eye disc epithelium and move towards and through the optic stalk. Mutant clones are not recovered in the epithelium of the wing pouch, although they can be recovered in the epithelium of the remainder of the wing disc.
