For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
The gene symbol "Eap" has been reverted to "CG3594" as it was originally named based on a 2001 conference abstract (FBrf0134204) and hasn't been named/characterized in a peer-reviewed publication since. Reverting to the CG number will also reduce confusion with the "eap" (CG32099) gene symbol, from which it differed only by case.
