lin-28 is detected in embryos but not at other developmental stages by western blot. Immunolocalization shows that lin-28 is highly expressed in the embryonic nervous and cardiac systems. Within the nervous system, lin-28 is expressed in a small subset of elav positive cells and in elav-negative cells in the ventral region. In the circulatory system it is expressed in cardioblasts and pericardial cells.
lin-28 appears to be present at equal levels in enteroblasts and intestinal stem cells.
lin-28 protein can be detected from cellular extracts from embryos and 1st instar larvae but not in third instar. The protein can then be detected in pupae and not in adults.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
