Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Source for identity of: Indy CG3979
Indy encodes a transporter that mediates transport of succinate and also citrate across the plasma membrane. The transport of succinate is not cation dependent. The transport of citrate is Na+-independent, but is markedly stimulated at pH6.0 compared to pH7.5.
Area matching Drosophila EST AA441327. This EST has sequence similarity to Rat sodium dependant dicarboxylate transporter, AB001321.
The gene is named "I'm not dead yet" based on a quip in the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".
