spartin protein in found in the brain and ventral nerve cord neuropil of third instar larva, co-localising with Syt1. In the larval neuromuscular junction, spartin protein is detected in domains adjacent to active zones and within synaptic boutons, in a punctate distribution which partially co-localises with the early endosome marker Rab5.
