Gene model reviewed during 5.53
There is only one protein coding transcript and one polypeptide associated with this gene
Click to get a list of regulatory features (enhancers, TFBS, etc.) and gene disruptions (point mutations, indels, etc.) within or overlapping Dmel\Cad88C using the Feature Mapper tool.
Cad88C is first expressed at oogenesis stage 10B where it is expressed in all oocyte associated follicle cells. In stages S11-12, expression is confined to dorsal anterior cells and polar cells.
Several cadherin genes are expressed in an overlapping pattern in the developing posterior spiracles. Cad88C and Cad96Cb transcripts are expressed in a group of deeper spiracle cells. Cad74A is expressed in a group of less elongated spiracle cells located above the Cad88C/Cad96Cb-expressing cells, and Cad86C is expressed in a row of stigmatophore cells surrounding the spiracular chamber.

Please Note FlyBase no longer curates genomic clone accessions so this list may not be complete
Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
