Lgr3 transcripts are expressed throughout development with a peak in first instar larvae. Transcripts are more abundant in males than females and the difference increases with age. Transcripts are observed in a broad range of tissues in wandering third instar larvae and in adults. The highest levels are observed in CNS and many tissues including larval midgut, hindgut, and gonads, and adult Malpighian tubule have higher levels in males than females. Levels are elevated in fat body in female relative to male.
