Seipin transcripts are detected at the highest levels by qRT-PCR in the larval fat body and at moderate levels in the salivary gland, midgut, and muscle. In situ hybridization reveals strong expression in late embryos in the hindgut as well as expression in larvae in the fat body, salivary gland, and anterior midgut.
