For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Ectopic expression of the RacGAP84C transcript at the embryonic cellularisation stage affects cell shape and adhesion, and cytoskeletal organisation, correlating with complete lethality. Overexpression in early pupae produces several viable imaginal phenotypes with discrete critical periods of induction.
