a MAGUK serving as a major binding partner of perisynaptic Dlg at larval neuromuscular junctions - stabilizes Dlg in a complex with adaptor protein Lin-7 - controls NMJ expansion and proper establishment of synaptic boutons

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see GBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
Source for merge of: CG13219 CG18338
The CG30021 annotation was previously referred to as "skiff" in FlyBase. However, this name refers to an embryonic dorsal closure phenotype which subsequently turned out to result from a mutation in a separate gene.
FlyBase curator comment: Since the "skiff" name refers to a mutation associated with a separate gene from the CG30021 annotation, the "skiff" synonyms have been removed from the CG30021 gene record and it has been renamed to "metro".
Annotations CG13219 and CG18338 merged as CG30021 in release 3 of the genome annotation.
Expression is enriched in embryonic gonads.
dsRNA made from templates generated with primers directed against this gene tested in RNAi screen for effects on Kc167 and S2R+ cell morphology.
