Synd protein is expressed from the early embryonic stages to the third larval stage. In stage 16 embryos it is predominantly found in the CNS and in third instar larva in the ventral nerve cord. Subcellularly, it co-localizes with the postsynaptic subsynaptic reticulum in neuromuscular junctions in wandering third instar larvae.
