AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Gene model reviewed during 5.47
There is only one protein coding transcript and one polypeptide associated with this gene
In the pre-SET domain, Cys residues bind 3 zinc ions that are arranged in a triangular cluster; some of these Cys residues contribute to the binding of two zinc ions within the cluster.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).

Expression levels of egg transcript oscillates continously throughout the life cycle. High expression levels are observed in the adult abdomen, with minimal expression in the head or thorax.
egg protein is expressed strongly in germ stem cells and dividing germline cyst cells in the germarium in both nucleus and cytoplasm, but after the 16 cell germline cysts form, it accumulates preferentially in the nucleus. It is present at low levels in somatic cells in regions 2 and 3 of the germarium, including the prefollicular cells and the follicle cells of stage 1 egg chambers. egg protein levels increase in follicle cells shortly after egg chambers bud off. By mid-oogenesis, egg protein levels decrease in nurse cells, and increase in follicle cells. In the oocyte nucleus, egg protein is present throughout the nucleoplasm and also
localizes to distinct subnuclear sites associated with chromosomes.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
