AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.
Annotated transcripts do not represent all possible combinations of alternative exons and/or alternative promoters.
Gene model reviewed during 5.49
Multiphase exon postulated: exon reading frame differs in alternative transcripts; overlap >20aa.
Three calcium ions are usually bound at the interface of each cadherin domain and rigidify the connections, imparting a strong curvature to the full-length ectodomain.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
Cad86C is first expressed at oogenesis stage S10B when it is strongly expressed in roof cells and in a ventral band. In stages S11 and S12, strong expression is observed in roof cells and in the midline cells separating roof primordia.
Cad86C is expressed in the broad region of the morphogenetic furrow and in clusters of cells posterior to the morphogenetic furrow, presumably corresponding to differentiating photoreceptor cells. It is present uniformly at a low level in the epithelium of the wing disc.
Several cadherin genes are expressed in an overlapping pattern in the developing posterior spiracles. Cad86C transcript is expressed in a row of stigmatophore cells surrounding the spiracular chamber. Cad88C and Cad96Cb are expressed in a group of deeper spiracle cells, and Cad74A is expressed in a group of less elongated spiracle cells located above the Cad88C/Cad96Cb-expressing cells.
Cad86C protein localizes to the subapical region of eye imaginal disc cells within the morphogenetic furrow.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
