The lethal and female sterility phenotypes previously ascribed to Pof deletion mutant alleles (in FBrf0179298) are not due to an effect on Pof, but are instead due to an effect on the CG33228 gene (this gene lies immediately upstream of Pof, and was not annotated on the D.melanogaster genome at the time of publication of FBrf0179298).
The 5' part of release 2 annotation CG4806 (which was deleted in the release 3.0 version of CG4806) has been restored as a distinct annotation, CG33228, in release 3.2 of the genome annotation.
