Additional comments
The CG15720-RB transcript was created in release 5.1 of the genome annotation. This annotation contained sequences corresponding to the IP18538 cDNA clone (BT030283) at its 3' end, and was annotated as part of the CG15720 annotation (which corresponds to the rad locus). In release 5.22 of the genome annotation, the CG15720-RB transcript has been deleted, and sequences corresponding to the IP18538 cDNA clone (BT030283) have instead been joined to sequences from the CG18646 annotation, to form a new annotation, CG42629. The annotation corresponding to the rad locus has been renamed from CG15720 to CG42628 to avoid confusion and consists of a single transcript (CG42628-RA) in release 5.22 of the genome annotation.
The gene corresponding to genome annotation CG42237 was named "radish" in FBrf0174475 due to an insertion allele in CG42237 (formerly known as CG4346). The group subsequently published a retraction explaining that this was a mistake and the radish phenotype is not caused by mutation of the CG42237 gene.

Anaesthesia resistant memory is, though long term memory is not disrupted by mutation at rad.
Anesthesia resistant memory is cycloheximide insensitive but is disrupted in rad mutants. Long term memory is cycloheximide sensitive, but is not disrupted by rad mutants.
The behaviour of rad flies and the genetics of the rad gene have been characterised. Consolidated memory is lacking in rad flies.
