Ncra\QF is a transcriptional activator that binds to a 16bp sequence found naturally in the Neurospora crassa qa gene cluster (copies of this 16bo sequence are referred to as Ncra\QUAS). Ncra\QF can thus be used to activate transcription of reporter constructs containing Ncra\QUAS regulatory sequences.
