      ens promotes microtubule polymerization during mitosis to control spindle length independently of Khc.

      Absence of ens protein reduces the effective affinity of full-length Khc for microtubules as well as the overall mobility of those Khc molecules that do succeed in binding to microtubules in an in vitro assay compared to when ens protein is present.

      ens promotes productive recruitment of kinesin-1 to microtubules in the oocyte.

      swoosh mutants have general muscle defects that affect all body wall muscles.
