      Description

A set of over 60 interchromosomal duplications derived from site-specific integration of retrofitted BACs, generated for the Bloomington Stock Center collection. BAC clones were 'retrofitted' using the plasmid TKVBL-w+ so that they were competent for Pacman style transgenesis, and inserted by phiC31-mediated recombination into the VK33 docking site on the third chromosome.

Existing BAC clones were first 'retrofitted' using the plasmid TKVBL-w+ so that they were competent for Pacman style transgenesis, as per Kondo and Perrimon, 2009 (FBrf0209351). The retrofitted clones were then integrated into the VK33 docking site on the third chromosome using phiC31-mediated recombination as per Venken KJ et al., 2010 (FBrf0212670).
