Isolation and characterization of Df(3L)BSC27 Jennifer Deal, Rachel Andrade and Kevin Cook Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center, Indiana University Df(3L)BSC27 was isolated as a P transposase-induced male recombination event involving P{lacW}l(3)L4060L4060 and P{PZ}corn04202. The deletion was isolated as a rho+-e+ recombinant chromosome from the cross rhove-1 pp e1 females x CyO, H{PDelta2-3}HoP2.1/+; rhove-1 P{PZ}corn04202/P{lacW}l(3)L0460L0460 e1 males. Polytene chromosome squashes showed the breakpoints 65D4-5;65E4-6. Df(3L)BSC27 failed to complement sglA31, binI1 and msl-31.
